You'll be making use of a number of components in the creation of your BEAM robot. This section's pages describe the most-common of them. One of the best things about BEAM robotics is that your components don't have to bust your budget. Many things you'll use will be salvaged from "techno-trash," others will be built up from smaller pieces you can scrounge or buy, and those things you must buy are generally quite affordable. I've tried to maintain a distinction between parts (small, single items) and assemblies (components that are built up from a number of parts) in this section. There's a somewhat fuzzy boundary between the two, but it's useful in a number of ways.
